Lakwin Aviation consists of a Board of Directors under Mr. Lakshitha Weerasinghe, the Founder. The Board consists of Capt. B.C.H. Perera and Mr. H.S. Silva. Lakwin Aviation has been highly privileged to have a highly experienced team of Aviation Professionals. Mr. H.S. Silva, the Managing Director, formerly an engineer in Air Force, is currently the most experienced active engineer in Civil Aviation of Sri Lanka. Captain B.C.H. Perera (Hirantha Perera), the Head of Training and Director of Operations has more than 14,000 hour to 15,000 flying hours and has been type rated in many light, medium and float rated Aircraft. Captain Hirantha has been a Flight Instructor and Certified Check Ride Examiner of CAASL for over 25 years. (He was the youngest person to be qualified in these ranks in Sri Lanka. He holds an ATPL License certified from Canada and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, he previously served as the Chief Flight Instructor in a few Flight Schools. He has hundreds of students qualified as Airline Pilots, Instructor and Charter Pilots in Sri Lanka and overseas. Captain Lakshith Abeyawardhana, a former Chief Ground Instructor with thousands of hours of lecturing and a former Senior Flight Instructor of a few schools, is the Chief Flight Instructor of Lakwin. Mr. Dhanuja Gunasekara, is the Chief Ground Instructor. He has been instructing for five years. Additional flight and ground instructors with years of experience and excellence are in the staff of Lakwin Flight Academy. Mr. Praveen Fernando, is the Maintenance Manager with a team of highly competent and qualified maintenance engineers.
